2nd week going good

September 7, 2015.  Today was game day.  For game today we made up a reading game.  I took 50 simple words (2-3 letters) and E and W and I made up a game.  I will not go into details yet because I am hoping to flush out the system and then sell it for a few dollars.  I will say that the kids (especially E) enjoyed the game and loved reading the cards.

September 8, 2015.  Today we worked on Math, All About Reading, Story Time, and Handwriting.    
     W was up first.  We started with Handwriting Without Tears:  My Printing Book.  I had him pick a pencil and a pencil grip.  We then went over the instructions and he completed page 7, we went over page 8, and he completed 1/2 of page 9.  W really likes the new Handwriting so far.  For StoryTime I read Old Hat, New Hat.  Next up W chose Math.  Today we started lesson 75 in RightStart Level B 1st edition.  Was not a good start.  We might need to review tens.  I'm not sure why he seemed to have trouble today but even when playing simple games he seemed off his game.  Last up was AAR.  Today was the beginning of reading "The Hit" in the volume 2.  The required reading is 2 pages a day for school until the story is completed.  W chose to read p.89-93 (5 pages).  He wanted to read the whole story however I felt that he was getting tired and not looking at the words and needed to break.
     E was up next.  We started with StoryTime:  I read Old Hat, New Hat. Then we moved onto  Handwriting Without Tears:  Printing Power.  I had him pick a pencil and a pencil grip.  We then went over the instructions and he completed page 7.  One real page was just the right amount for E and I think the grip might have helped we will see.  E seemed to like the new Handwriting so far.   Next up was Math.  Today we started lesson 75 in RightStart Level B 1st edition.  E seemed to get it okay.  We might still need some review though.  We did half a lesson today.  Last up was AAR.  Today was the beginning of reading "The Hit" in the volume 2.  The required reading is 2 pages a day for school until the story is completed.  E did okay and chose to read only the 2 pages required.  E read p.89-90.

September 10, 2015.  Today was FLL, Story Time, and AAR.  We did not do math today because E had a doctor's appointment.
     Started with W.  We reviewed pronouns.  When asked if table was a pronoun W said no, when asked if it was a pronoun W said yes. We then moved onto reviewing nouns, linking verbs, and contractions.  W was able to recognize a contraction.  After FLL we moved onto Story Time.  I read We Love Fall.  Next up was reading (required reading is 2 pgs).  W finished up the story "The Hit".  He read p. 94-99.  W did well today with reading.  It seemed like he was recognizing (reading) some of the words faster than before (mastery/fluency).
     Next up E.  We started with Story Time:  We Love Fall.  Then we reviewed pronouns.  When asked if table was a pronoun E said no, when asked if it was a pronoun W said yes. We then moved onto reviewing nouns, linking verbs, and contractions.  E had no problems distinguishing between a contraction and not a contraction.  Last was reading (required reading 2 pgs.).  E read p.91-92.
