Have Hope

We went to the MagLab on 2/27/16.  It was a blast and now W wants to be a scientist.  They saw and played with pullies and sound.

Feb. 29, 2016.  Today W finished up page 63 in HWT.  E did 5 words on page 15 (most he has done yet at one time) in HWT.  There was no reading for W today.  Today E started a new story "The Pet Duck".  He read 2 pages pgs.59-60.  Next up was Math (RGHT STRT).  Today we started lesson 93 subtraction.  I have this has a 4 day lesson.  It fits my children better.  Today W went over the warm up and we reviewed addition.  He did well. Today E went over the warm up and we reviewed addition.  He was getting frustrated with warm up but did good with addition.  We also did FLL lesson 69 today.  It was just a review of previous poems.

March 1, 2016.  Today W did page 64 q and started on page 65 q words in HWT.  E did the last 2 words finishing up page 15 in HWT.  Today W started on a new lesson in AAR.  We did the first part of ng sounds and words.  E read another 2 pages of his story.  He was only required to read 1 but as he read page 61 he insisted that he had read that page before.  I then said that it is okay and should not be a problem (he finished reading the page) and lets go ahead and read the next page since he had read this page already.  So he read pages 61-62.  Win for me.  Today for lesson 93 we started Day 2.  We did the part labeled subtracting.  W did well and figured out what order to put the numbers in for turning the 5+3=8 into a subtraction problem.  He did so through trial and error.  E did well today also and through trial and error figured out how to turn 5+3=8 into a subtraction problem.  He didn't even get frustrated with the process.  I should mention that we were subracting 3 from 8 so the problem was 8-3=5.  Today for FLL we review propositions, learned 4 new propositions and dictated a letter to someone else.  Lesson 70.  Tomorrow each child will start to copy what they dictated today.  There will be NO Handwriting exercises tomorrow as both children will do this and both children will work on printing so FLL will serve to cover 2 subjects as one.

March 2, 2016.  Today was a pretty good school day.  Today W started to copy down the letter that he dictated to me yesterday.  Although he wrote it (handwriting) in his own style large and upwards he did copy it.  Will later work on placement.  He had a different paper than what he is normally use to.  Next we did more AAR.  We finished up the ng sound with ung and then made a few words with ang, ung, ing, and ong.  Last up was Math and we continued to work on lesson 93.  We practiced turning addition into subtraction.    Today E started to copy down the letter he dictated to me yesterday.  We started off rough, so I wrote the date down and then he started to copy the rest.  I was impressed.  He copied more down today than I though he would.  The letter placement on the lines was nice just the sizing.  He did well and reminded me of when I use to write that small.  Next up was 1 page reading in AAR.  He read page 63.  Last up was Math.  Did the same that W did.  Good Day.

March 3, 2016.  We continued on.  Finished up lesson 93 in Math.  W did more work on AAR with a game and reading 6 new green cards.  E read page 64 in his story.  For FLL they finished copying their letters.

March 4, 2016.  No school allergies to bad.
