Monday March 30, 2015. Reading fluency sheet by W went well. Also did Math which included a worksheet (adding with 2 five strategy) and reflection game. W did well. E's turn. Reading fluency sheet was pulling teeth with E and did 1/3 of math today so he will do 2 math's tomorrow. I will make sure he is in bed earlier tonight. All the hassle today is due to him being tired.
Tuesday March 31, 2015. E started with finishing up the math from yesterday. He did better attitude wise so far, sleep helps. W started with math first and did well, worked on 8's strategy and did worksheet. Used the abacus with the 2 digit numbers. He's starting to get the 8's strategy down. Next he did the Fluency sheet and did well with reading. He starting to remember the th sounds and ch sounds and we worked some on the sight words was and said. He is done for the day. Did part of the work in the bathroom while he was potting his choice not mine. E's turn first up math again. He did good. When it came to the worksheet however he decided to use the abacus for the whole worksheet. I think it helped him get the concept of the 8's strategy though. Next up Fluency sheet. Once he put his mind to it he did well.
Wednesday April 1, 2015. Life. They learned more about respect and how to act in public...bank, DQ, and the new apartment complex. Tonight they also went to Tiger Rock.
Thursday April 2, 2015. Today we went on a tour of Publix. The kids learned some about nutrition. They were able to see the storage area of Publix and where the employee eat and take a break. They each got to scan an item and answer questions. E was a bit shy but the trip was good for him. They also received some healthy food samples, an activity book, and a friz-bi. Now onto All About Reading Fluency Sheets. E did the required reading. He wants to take the short cuts and read the last sentence but he really needs the repetition in order to become more fluent. Will see what accommodations I can make. Today W surprised me and he read the whole fluency page, not what was just required. Way to go.
Friday April 3, 2015. I don't really remember what was done on this day. E had a doctor's visit and both kids behaved well at the visit. Then packing and ready for trip happend. I don't really remember them doing school
April 4-13, 2015. We went to visit family that is dying. I brought AAR and Math to do but we did not end up doing any school. On the trip up the kids did get a real life brief lesson on geography at some of the rest stops.
